An upcoming forum on cybersecurity is taking place at Sheridan College’s Mississauga campus in March. The inaugural Mississauga Cybersecurity Forum will occur on March 2 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Hazel McCallion Campus and feature a panel discussion with women leaders in cybersecurity.
The free event – ‘An Evening with Women Leaders in Cybersecurity’ – is in partnership with Mississauga-based leader and innovator in cybersecurity, Stratejm, Sheridan College said in a release.
“Bringing together the cybersecurity community to spotlight the crucial role women play in the industry creates space to discuss challenges and identify pathways to success,” John Menezes, president, and CEO of Stratejm, said in the release.
The evening will include a networking reception and opening remarks from Mayor Bonnie Crombie.
The panel discussion will feature Jennifer R. Davidson, Tech, Data, and Cybersecurity Law partner at Deeth Williams Wall LLP; Kelley Irwin, Chief Investment Officer at Electrical Safety Authority; Priya Sirwani, Chief Information Security Officer at Fiera Capital and Julia Zhu, Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Innovation Officer at Alectra Utilities.
“The forum presents a welcome opportunity for our students to hear from women who have paved the way in a traditionally male-dominated industry,” stated Ali Hassan, Sheridan’s cybersecurity program coordinator. “We’re thrilled to partner with Stratejm to help facilitate this crucial conversation.”
