5 Websites to Showcase Your Photographs Other than Instagram

-

There are many different websites out there where you can showcase your photographs. Some of these sites are free while others require a monthly fee. Some allow you to upload unlimited pictures while others have a limit. There are some that only let you share your images with friends and family while others allow you to share them with anyone who visits the site. A few even offer features that allow you to create albums and add text to your images. All of these things make photo-sharing websites great tools for photographers.

Other than Instagram, below are 5 websites to showcase your photographs.

1. Flickr

Flickr is a website where users can upload their photographs and share them with others. There are many different ways to use Flickr including uploading images to albums, tagging people in your pictures, sharing your pictures with friends, and even making money off of your photographs.

The app has two types of accounts: Free and Pro. Flickr’s current Free accounts come with a variety of limitations: you can only upload up to 1,000 items and cannot post what Flickr calls “moderate and restricted content”. In addition, free accounts are not allowed for more than 50 nonpublic photos.

2. 500px

500px is a photography community site that allows photographers to showcase their work and connect with others who love photography. Users can browse through thousands of high-quality photographs uploaded by other members. 500px offers pros a place to store, exhibit, and license their work — and get comments.

3. DeviantArt

DeviantArt is a website where artists can create and sell their artwork. Artists post their artworks online and then they are able to make sales directly through the website. Like 500x, DeviantArt is more for professional photographers than casual picture takers, although anyone can join for free. It offers visitors a wide range of artist galleries to view, divided into categories such as traditional, animation, and illustrations. The emphasis here is on creating a community of artists, so there aren’t only comments but also new chat features as well.

4. Tumblr

Tumblr is a microblogging website that allows its users to post short text posts along with multimedia content. Tumblr is great for showcasing your creative writing skills and sharing your thoughts with others.

You can upload and showcase your photographs directly from your phone or camera and then add text and tags to them. Once uploaded, you can choose to make your blog public or private. If you want to keep your photos private, you can restrict who can view them by setting a password. You can also tag people in your photos if they’re in them. Tags help organize your photos and make finding them easier later. You can search for specific tags using the search bar at the top right corner of your screen.

5. Pinterest

This is a seasoned and great platform where you can showcase your photographs. Pinterest is a social networking website that allows its users to share their interests and favorite things via pictures. People pin interesting articles, recipes, and products onto boards that they have created. Users can follow other people’s boards, and they can follow others’ followers. You can browse through the pins of other users and save them to your board.
